Chip PC announces support of the VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution with its enhanced thin client product lines.

Chip PC, global technology leader in server-centric solutions, announces its thin clients full support of the VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution.

Chip PC is capable, via its management software Xcalibur Global, to control the access to virtual machines without any third party software tools and offers a one-stop brokering and access point to virtual machines.

The VDI solution is supported by Xcalibur Global management software Virtual Desktop Center that enhances the support of virtual machines, by offering one to:

• Transparently link between thin client users to their Virtual Windows XP environment
• Pool virtual or actual desktops into groups thus making it possible to assign machines to users
• Manage Virtual Machines Status: connect to the VMware Virtual Center and manage VM's status, such as Stop, Start, Pause, Resume and more.
• Wake Virtual Machines: when connecting to a VM which is in standby – send a wake-up command to it.

 VMware’s Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solution enables organizations to control access to their workstations from the data center by placing any user desktop environment on a virtual machine that is hosted on the server. The user desktop is accessed by a thin client.
